Fire protection
The highest goal and at the same time the demand of data center operators is to ensure the constant maximum availability of computing power and data - 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Today's working and business world as well as all communication depend on digitally stored information and data. Without the availability of this data, business processes come to a sudden halt. This results in high economic damage. It is therefore essential for data centers that the servers they operate are accessible at all times. Reliable fire protection in data centers can contribute to this.
extinguish fire
A gas fire extinguishing system is a fire extinguishing system that extinguishes a fire by means of a gaseous extinguishing agent either by oxygen displacement or by heat extraction.
Unlike a sprinkler system, a gas extinguishing system is designed to extinguish a fire, and not just to suppress it.
detect smoke
An aspirating smoke detector (ARM) is a fire detection system and can replace an arrangement of several point smoke detectors in a fire detection system.
An ARM consists of a simple pipe system and an evaluation unit. Air sampling openings are inserted into the pipe system. A fan integrated into the evaluation unit continuously draws air from the data centre via the pipe system.
air conditioning
Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) monitors and controls equipment, temperature, air supply and humidity in data centers.
There are several ways to use CRAC devices. A very common CRAC installation leads the cooling air via a raised floor to the server racks. The cooling air penetrates from below through the perforated floor plates and forms a cold aisle.
